Fighting hunger, new global governance, climate emergency, digital content creation in a connected world. To discuss these and other challenging issues of our time, CRIA G20 will be held at Píer Space in the center of Rio de Janeiro. From November 14 to 16, the event will connect content creators, social activists and media professionals from Brasil and the world, allowing them to voice their opinions on the priorities of Brasil's G20 presidency. The event precedes the G20 Leaders' Summit, to be held on November 18 and 19.

With a vigorous agenda, CRIA G20 is a space for transformation and social engagement, seeking to foster debates on the Global Alliance against Hunger and Poverty, the new global financial architecture, and tackling climate change. Promoting open dialogues, the event seeks to broaden the debate and inspire action for a world free of hunger, with climate justice and less inequality.

One of the highlights of CRIA G20 will be the G20 Talks, featuring daily panels with important figures from Brasil and other countries to debate the main themes of Brasil's G20 presidency. In addition to the live broadcast on the G20 YouTube channel, the public will also be able to register to attend the G20 Talks in person.

YouTubers, content creators and activists will present CRIACast, a series of spontaneous conversations  with the panelists and other guests, discussing the changes needed in the world to fight hunger and poverty, ensure inclusion, and promote climate justice.

Making it happen

The event will also include the participation of content creators from different areas, who will offer practical workshops providing information and experiences on video and content production for the Internet and social networks. The public will be able to register to attend the workshops in person.

Reinforcing one of the aspects of Brasil's G20 presidency, collectives, students, and information and digital culture activists will be invited to participate in the event's coverage. The goal is to promote a diversity of perspectives and opinions.

Festival

Another major cultural event will take place in Rio between November 14 and 16: the Aliança Global Festival (Global Alliance Festival), which will be held at Praça Mauá. Important Brazilian artists will participate in the festival to promote engagement and discussion about the main hallmark of Brasil's G20 presidency: the Global Alliance against Hunger and Poverty.

As the eyes of the world turn to Brasil, the Festival will draw on the transformative power of artistic and cultural expressions to deliver a message about the country's commitment to building a collaborative network with lasting impact, involving countries, organizations, and citizens in the fight for food justice

Inspired by international concerts such as Live Aid (1985) and the Free Nelson Mandela Concert (1988), both in London, the Global Alliance Festival will feature artists such as the Ambassador of Brazilian Culture, Seu Jorge, Zeca Pagodinho, Ney Matogrosso, Daniela Mercury, Alceu Valença, Diogo Nogueira, Fafá de Belém, Mateus Aleluia, Maria Rita, Kleber Lucas, Teresa Cristina, Mariene de Castro, Roberta Sá, Larissa Luz, Ilessi, Rachel Reis, Rita Benneditto, Afrocidade, Roberto Mendes, Marcelle Motta, Pretinho da Serrinha, Jaloo, Jovem Dionísio, Tássia Reis, Jota.pê, Lukinhas, Maria Gadú and Aguidavi do Jejê.

Admission to the festival is free, and tickets must be obtained from Sympla.

Global Alliance

The Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty had its pre-launch on July 24, 2024, in Rio de Janeiro. It will now be officially presented at the G20 Summit, which begins on November 18. President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva attended the pre-launch and highlighted the initiative's importance in fighting hunger and poverty worldwide. “As long as there are families without food on the table, children on the streets and young people without hope, there will be no peace,” said Lula.

The Alliance aims to mobilize resources and coordinate actions between countries, international organizations, and civil society to achieve ambitious goals for reducing hunger and poverty, seeking solutions to UN Sustainable Development Goals 1 (No Poverty) and 2 (Zero Hunger).

The Brazilian proposal received significant support from international leaders and food security experts, who highlighted the need for a joint and sustainable approach to addressing these global challenges. The initiative is one of the central pillars of Brasil's G20 presidency.
